Transfer a domain in

Before you start

At your current registrar: unlock the domain, disable WHOIS privacy if it blocks transfers, and get the EPP / auth code. The domain must be older than 60 days and not recently transferred.

Steps

  1. Go to Domains and choose the Transfer option.
  2. Enter the domain name and the EPP/auth code from your current registrar.
  3. Add to cart and check out (a transfer usually includes a 1-year renewal).
  4. Approve the transfer email if your current registrar sends one. Track progress under Domains → Transfers in progress.
  5. Transfers can take a few days to complete, controlled by the registries.

Troubleshooting

  • "Invalid auth code" — copy it again exactly from your current registrar; regenerate it if needed.
  • Transfer rejected — make sure the domain is unlocked and not within 60 days of registration/last transfer.
