Create an SFTP/FTP account and connect

SFTP lets you upload and manage files with a desktop client — ideal for bulk transfers.

Create the account

  1. Go to Hosting → [package] → SFTP.
  2. Click to create an SFTP account and set a password (setting the password activates it).
  3. Note the host, username, port, and protocol shown.

Connect with a client

Use FileZilla, WinSCP, or Cyberduck with:

  • Protocol: SFTP (recommended) or FTPS. Plain FTP is discouraged.
  • Host, port, username from the SFTP page.
  • Password you set, or an SSH key (see Add an SSH key).

Upload files into your site's document root (usually public_html).

Troubleshooting

  • Can't connect — confirm the protocol (SFTP) and port match; re-set the password to (re)activate the account.
  • Uploaded but site unchanged — check you're in the correct document-root folder; purge the cache.
