Turn on domain (WHOIS) privacy

Domain privacy replaces your name, address, email, and phone in public WHOIS with privacy-protected values, reducing spam and exposure.

Steps

1. Open Domains → [your domain] → Registration settings.
2. Toggle Domain privacy / WHOIS privacy on.
3. Save. Public WHOIS updates shortly after.

You can also add privacy when first registering a domain, in the cart.

Good to know

• Some country-code extensions (for example certain .ca registrant types) have their own WHOIS rules and may not support standard privacy.

Troubleshooting

• Toggle unavailable — that extension may not support privacy; the page will note this.
• Transferring out? — you may need to temporarily disable privacy to receive transfer emails.
