Register a new domain

Steps

  1. Go to Domains (or the Domains service page) and use the search box.
  2. Type the name you want. We'll show whether it's available and the price in CAD, plus suggestions.
  3. Select the domain(s) you want and (optionally) toggle domain privacy to keep your contact details out of public WHOIS.
  4. Add to cart and check out (see Choose a plan and check out).
  5. After payment, the domain appears under Domains. If it's for a website, connect it next.

After registering

  • Manage it from Domains → [your domain]: auto-renew, privacy, nameservers, DNSSEC, forwarding, and the EPP/auth code.
  • Point it at a website in Websites → [site] → Domains, or manage records under DNS.

Troubleshooting

  • Name taken? — try a different extension (.ca, .net) or a suggested alternative.
  • Typo after purchase? — domains generally can't be renamed or refunded once registered; register the correct one.
