Use the file manager

Steps

  1. Go to Websites → [site] → Files.
  2. Browse your site's folders. From here you can:
    • Upload files, and unzip archives after uploading.
    • Create a new folder.
    • Rename, move, or delete items.
    • Adjust permissions where needed.

Tips

  • The document root (where your site lives) is usually public_html or similar.
  • Prefer SFTP for large or bulk transfers (see Create an SFTP/FTP account).

Troubleshooting

  • Permission errors — most web files should be 644 and folders 755; avoid 777.
  • Site broke after editing a file — restore the file from a backup, or use the file manager to revert your change.
