Create a mailbox
Create a mailbox Before you start You need an email plan on a domain. If you don't have one, choose an email plan (or use the free email included with hosting) from the Email page. Create a single mailbox 1. Go to Email → [your domain]. 2. Click Add mailbox (or open Mailboxes → New). 3. Enter the address (e.g. you@yourdomain.com), then set a password — use Generate for a strong one. 4. Save. The mailbox is ready to use in webmail and any mail app. Create mailboxes in bulk On the domain's mailbox page, choose the bulk option to add several addresses at once. Use your mailbox - Webmail — click Open Webmail on the domain page. - Mail apps — connect Outlook, Apple Mail, or Gmail with standard IMAP/SMTP settings. Troubleshooting - Can't send or receive? — make sure your email DNS (MX, SPF, DKIM) is set up and verified (see Set up email DNS). - Hit your mailbox limit? — upgrade your plan or add storage on the domain page. Set up email DNS and deliverability
Set up email DNS and deliverability For email to work and stay out of spam, your domain needs the right DNS records: MX (routing), SPF and DKIM (authentication), and often DMARC. Steps 1. Go to Email → [your domain] → DNS & delivery. Orvoro shows the exact records to add. 2. Add each record at your DNS provider: - If Orvoro manages your DNS, add them on the DNS page (see Manage DNS records). - If another provider manages DNS, add them there. 3. Back on the DNS & delivery screen, click Verify. Records turn green once detected. 4. Allow time for propagation (minutes, sometimes longer) before re-verifying. Why each record matters - MX — tells the world which server receives your mail. - SPF / DKIM — prove your mail is really from your domain, which mailbox providers require to trust it. - DMARC — tells receivers what to do with mail that fails checks. Troubleshooting - Verification stuck? — double-check you copied each value exactly (no trailing spaces) and that you edited the provider currently controlling DNS. - Mail going to spam? — confirm SPF and DKIM are verified; give reputation time to build with normal sending. Set up forwarding and aliases
Set up forwarding and aliases Forward a mailbox 1. Go to Email → [domain] → mailboxes and open the mailbox. 2. Add a forwarding address to send incoming mail elsewhere. You can keep a copy in the mailbox too. Add an alias Aliases (like sales@ or info@) deliver to an existing mailbox without needing a separate account. 1. On the domain's email page, add an alias and point it at the destination mailbox. 2. Mail to the alias now lands in that mailbox; the mailbox can also send as the alias. Troubleshooting - Forwarded mail bouncing — the destination provider may reject forwarded mail; keeping a local copy plus SPF/DKIM set up helps. - Alias not receiving — confirm the alias points to an active mailbox and your email DNS is verified. Migrate email from another provider
Migrate email from another provider Bring your existing mail (folders and messages) into Orvoro over IMAP — for free. Steps 1. Create the matching mailboxes in Orvoro first (see Create a mailbox). 2. Go to Email → [domain] → Migrate Email. 3. Enter your old provider's IMAP details: server, port, and the mailbox username/password to copy from. 4. Start the migration. It copies messages in the background; large mailboxes take longer. 5. When complete, update your devices/apps to the Orvoro mail settings, then switch your domain's MX records so new mail arrives at Orvoro. Tips - Migrate first, verify mail arrived, then cut over MX — so nothing is lost. Troubleshooting - Connection failed — check the IMAP host/port and that the old provider allows IMAP (some need an app password). - Missing messages — re-run migration for that mailbox; confirm the source credentials are correct. On the domain's email page, find the mailbox backups add-on. 2. Enable it to keep daily backups of your mailboxes, so mail can be recovered if it's deleted. Troubleshooting - Can't sign in to webmail — reset the mailbox password from the mailbox settings. - App won't connect — use the exact IMAP/SMTP host, ports, and SSL settings from the domain page.
