# Transfer a domain in

## Before you start

At your current registrar: **unlock** the domain, disable WHOIS privacy if it blocks transfers, and get the **EPP / auth code**. The domain must be older than 60 days and not recently transferred.

## Steps

1. Go to **Domains** and choose the **Transfer** option.
2. Enter the domain name and the **EPP/auth code** from your current registrar.
3. Add to cart and check out (a transfer usually includes a 1-year renewal).
4. Approve the transfer email if your current registrar sends one. Track progress under **Domains → Transfers in progress**.
5. Transfers can take a few days to complete, controlled by the registries.

## Troubleshooting

- **"Invalid auth code"** — copy it again exactly from your current registrar; regenerate it if needed.
- **Transfer rejected** — make sure the domain is unlocked and not within 60 days of registration/last transfer.
