# Set your domain's nameservers

Nameservers decide which service answers DNS for your domain. Use Orvoro's nameservers to manage DNS here, or point to another provider.

## Steps

1. Open **Domains → [your domain]** and find **Nameserver mode / Set nameservers**.
2. Choose a mode:
   - **Orvoro-managed** — uses Orvoro's nameservers so you can edit records on the **DNS** page.
   - **Custom** — enter the nameservers your other DNS provider gave you.
3. Save. Use **re-check / delegation check** to confirm the change has taken effect.
4. Nameserver changes can take a few hours to propagate worldwide.

## Troubleshooting

- **Records not editable in Orvoro?** — you're on custom nameservers; manage DNS where those point, or switch to Orvoro-managed.
- **Delegation check fails?** — wait for propagation and re-check; confirm you saved the exact nameserver hostnames.
