# Install an SSL certificate

Every Orvoro site can serve traffic securely over **https** with a free SSL certificate.

## Free SSL (Let's Encrypt)

1. Go to **Websites → [site] → SSL**.
2. Click to **issue a Let's Encrypt certificate** for your domain.
3. Once issued, your site loads over **https** and the certificate **renews automatically**.

## Upload your own certificate

If you have a certificate from another provider, choose **Upload custom certificate** and paste the certificate, private key, and any chain.

## Requirements

- Your domain must point to your Orvoro site (nameservers or DNS records) so the certificate can be validated. See *Connect an existing domain*.

## Troubleshooting

- **Issuance failed?** — confirm the domain resolves to your site and that DNS has propagated, then retry.
- **Browser still shows "not secure"?** — make sure links use `https://`; clear the cache and reload.
